Timely Tuesdays: DIY Notebook Paper Artwork

Alright, so today we are going to be creating some artwork for any room in your house.  The supplies you're going to need for this project are:
  • Canvas (size of your choosing)
  • Notebook Paper
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Spray Paint (color of your choosing)
( I re-purposed an old canvas, so I used white paint as a primer to cover it )

So this is what it looked like before painting it with the green paint.

This is the final product

I hope that you guys like it!  If you make one, send me a link to a photo...I'd love to see what you come up with!

Inspire Me Wednesdays: {House Decor}

Okay, so I am slowly trying to redecorate our place with stuff that will fit into our house that we will buy within the next two years.  It's not that I hate most of the stuff that we currently have, it's more like, it was stuff thrown together from both of our "first places" and never really felt like it "fit".  We started our project almost two years ago when we decided not to go "BIG" for each other individually, but instead to get one "BIG" gift that benefited the both of us.  We did this by getting ourselves a new bed (frame), basically we didn't have a bed frame before.  It's not the bed that we'll have forever [it'll wind up being a guest room bed] because it's only a full size and we eventually want a king, once we have a bigger place.  Our room is WAY too small for anything larger than what we already have.  You can see what I've done so far with our bedroom so far HERE.

So what we're thinking of doing as a "BIG" gift for the both of us this year is some new living room furniture.  I am IN LOVE with tufted couches!  I feel like my style is something that maybe a lot of people shy away from because I love bright colors and crazy eclectic stuff.  So my post today is my inspiration for what I would like to do with our space!

Enjoy!

I'm sorry if a few of them are blurry.  I think one of the things that makes me MOST happy is that my wonderful husband doesn't mind bright colors!  I feel like too many people "play it safe" by only doing browns and tans.  I want people to walk into our place and go "Wow!  That's bold!"

So tell me, what inspires you?

Case of The Mondays: Weekend Wrap Up

So, I went into my weekend knowing what was going on.  I had a birthday girl's night out for one of my "Besties" and I was pretty excited about it because it had a dress up theme, Jerseylicious.  Now even though I have never seen the show, I am a sucker for dressing up!  [My birthday party this year is a Nerdolution theme!]  But late on Friday night my husband dropped a little bomb on me that leaves us a little strapped for cash (I swear I have the worst luck with vehicles).  So I was unable to go out with the girls.
To salvage my weekend I decide to work on items that I will be selling at my FIRST BOOTH!!!  I am super excited about this.  It's kind of a small venue, but I don't even care!  [I'll share the event with you soon ;)]  While planning out what I was going to be working on, I texted back and forth with another friend and found out the she needed to find a baby shower gift for someone.  So, since I absolutely LOVE to make diaper cakes, I offer my services.  So instead of being out at a club all dressed up with the girls, I spent Saturday night at my place teaching my friend how to make a diaper cake.  This made my night not such a bust, [I mean, my nights are never a bust as long as they're spent with my hubby!] but you get what I'm saying.  Plus I was able to get one cute bag made as well.

So, how did you spend your weekend?

E....X....P.R.E.S.S........Ladies NO REGRETS!

What I am wearing:  Cute, completely thrown together, "Business Chic"
Guess Jeans vest
*  High wasted ruffle skirt [Clearanced at Marshall's for $7...SCORE!]
Madden Girl sparkle heels
Dots assorted jewelry [Great place for cheap, cute stuff!]
* Lyrics:  "EXPRESS" by Christina Aguilera Burlesque Soundtrack

I have always known that you could dress fashionably at a low cost.  I must say that the adds for TJ Maxx where the girls claim that they are "Maxxinistas" completely inspire me!  I love them!  I love fashion and I honestly have expensive taste...but I think that even if I had the budget to buy the expensive stuff...I would still go to Marshall's and Ross.  It just means that I would buy a lot more. ;)
So my advice to you is this...DIG!  Dig through the racks and you never know what you will find.  If something looks kinda funky on the rack but you think it might have potential...try it on.  Trust me when I say that a lot of the things that I buy have been those things that look weird on the hanger.  Have fun shopping and remember, don't spend too much!

Enjoy Your Weekend!

Timely Tuesdays: DIY Dry Erase Board

Okay, I know that I'm a little late and I'm SUPER sorry, especially since it's the first week that I'm trying to do my weekday themes.  (Not very "timely" of me)! Plus, my computer has been acting up and making things more difficult than they need to be.
Timely Tuesdays will be posts of different types of How To's that you can do in a "timely" fashion.  Pretty much, "anyone can do it" how to's.

Today I'm going to show you how to make a Dry Erase Board using a poster frame and some fabric.  It's super easy and let's face it, much prettier than using one from your local office supply store.  And did I mention cheaper?  So let's get started!

Here is the FINAL PRODUCT!!  YAY!

So, what are your thoughts?  Does it make you wanna go make one right now?

Case of: The Mondays

So, I have decided to start making "Theme Days" for each day of the week.  I have been meaning to do this for a while and just haven't ever gotten around to it, but I'm am going to try my best to be a blogging machine!  :)

To start us out for the week, I truly do have a case of the Mondays.  I'm going back to work full time for the first time since June 24th....yes, that's right.  No, I haven't been without a job.  I am a nanny and the family that I work for was out of town for vacation for that long.  I still worked but I was pretty much on my own schedule, and while it was nice...I actually am happy to be getting back to a real schedule.  (Don't get me wrong...I'll miss all the extra sleep I was getting...I LOVE SLEEP!)  The youngest of the kids just graduated kindergarten and the oldest just graduated high school (Yes...there is a big gap there...ha ha).  I had these plans to make them each a cute little mini scrapbook as each of their graduation gifts by their graduation, but I became really busy and didn't.  So, I made them while they were out of town.  I am giving Faith's to her tomorrow and Alex's (I am ashamed to admit still needs a little work) will be given to her on Tuesday when I see her.

So, what do you think?  Does this inspire you to give as a gift?
