Crazy for Coupons!

Okay, so for those of you who say "I don't have time for coupons" you're seriously missing out!  I am a HUGE fan of coupons!  I grew up with my mom always using them and if she didn't have a coupon for something, well...she didn't get it.  That's just how things were in my house growing up.  So a few months back I started to really clip coupons (You see, Trey and I are saving for a house and every little bit counts!).  I was so excited when on 1/22/11 I tweeted

Just saved $40 on our grocery bill at Target...Thank You, Coupons!!!

So when I saw a commercial for TLC's new show Extreme Couponing  I couldn't wait to add it to my DVR!  Well let me tell you something...these people on this show are CRAZY AWESOME!!!  I am learning so much from them.  And it really excites me that Trey is excited about it too!  So we went shopping this past weekend and saved some while it may be nothing compared to the people on the show, it's a pretty big deal to us.

Trey found a great sale on ground turkey at Albertson's for about $1/lb (actually it's a little over a lb).  Since we don't eat beef at all and turkey is what we use as a substitute, this was really great for us!  Now our freezer is getting packed.  Man I can't wait to have a deep freeze!
I wanted to share some websites that you can print coupons from for free and just to let you know, if you shop at Target, they will stack Target coupons with a Manufacturer's coupon to save you even more!

So Stinkin' CUTE!!!

So, last Sunday April 3rd, we went to Berlynn (our flower girl's) 3rd birthday party.  First off let me say that our friend Wendy is just fabulous and does an awesome job with each of her kid's birthdays.  She, like me, is a DIY person and Berlynn's birthday parties especially are ALWAYS adorable.  So here are some photos from the party and some from after that I swear belong on greeting cards!

After the shindig was over the kids starting playing in the lake for a little while.  I snapped this picture and think that it would be SUPER cute on a greeting card...ha ha.
Well...what do you think?

Goodnight Friends!

Just your typical Friday night...

Okay, as if you didn't get enough of this in my last post.  Last Friday night the hubby went out with a friend and so (since I was going out the next night for a Bachelorette Party) I stayed in and found other ways to amuse myself.  Just your typical Friday night, ha ha.

My First Project Of The Evening:
So, please forgive the awful lighting in our kitchen.  This is our wasted space!  I'm not one to put decorations up there, atleast not in an apartment when you need the space for some kind of storage.

As you can see, we have some stuff that just simply WON'T fit into any cabinet.

We have to have something on top of the fridge to keep the frickin' cat from getting up top.  She used to constantly jump up there and get her hair all over EVERYTHING!  As if her hair isn't already everywhere else in the apartment, she has to get it on top of kitchen stuff?!

So remember how I said that our closet used to have shelves up top on both sides and we recently replaced the ones on my side with the IKEA shoe boxes?  Well we had been trying to find a place to use the shelves, knowing that something would come up if we got rid of them.  While up late one night in one of my insomniac episodes (like right now!), I thought this up.

I surprised Trey when he got home from his "Guy's Night".
Even freed up some counter space by putting our mixer and my cupcake boxes up there.

And here, he thought all I was going to be doing was some crafting...ha ha.

On To My Next And Final Project For The Night:
The entry way into our laundry room, area...whatever you want to call it.  I somehow used to think that this looked good, please forgive me.  I swear it used to hang better and looked so pretty.  ( I guess that's just what I have to tell myself. )

I decided to get some clip rings and sew some curtains that would bring in something new and fresh.

This is what I came up with.  Now immediately after putting them up and re-examining them I decided that they needed a little something.  So, I'm planning on adding some purple fabric to the bottom of each curtain.  We recently added a rug in the kitchen in front of the sink and it is purple so I can't wait to add some more.  I'm so grateful that I married a man who isn't afraid of color!

Anyways, as soon as I add the bottoms I will post a picture!  As for now, I'm heading for bed.  I'm super tired!
